Tai Chi forms and Qigong exercises are amazing ways to improve the health and well-being of mind and body. Tai Chi forms practice is a little more complex, whilst qigong exercises are usually simpler.

We teach the traditional Tai Chi long form of the Wu/Cheng style (from the Cheng Tin Hung lineage). This form has 119 techniques and can be learned in as little as 3 months with regular practice.

Our Tai Chi form is first learned ‘square’ which is highly structured and helps you to master the postures. The square form is sometimes called ‘joint form’, as it helps relax and open up the various joints of the body. Below is a learning resource to help you in your square form practice.

The form is then learned in its ‘round’ method, which is designed to flow like a river. Each method builds specific skills.

The Sabre form is a dynamic form trained at speed which further builds on strengthening the body and developing athletic and coordinated movements, as well as training the cardiovascular system more intensely.

The Spear form develops a strong body and the precise application of focussed power. Some training spears are quite heavy and build a very powerful core.

The sword form builds advanced footwork and balance skills as well as refined coordination and ‘feel’, being considered the most advanced tai chi form.

Qigong exercises are used as warm ups and cool-down training.

Traditional Tai Chi training has a long list of benefits, for improving your health and for those interested in self defence, building a strong body and refining technique as well as coordination.
