Why Women-Only

A lower-pressure way in

Walking into a martial arts space for the first time can feel intimidating, especially in a mixed class as a complete beginner. This is a genuinely lower-pressure way to start — training alongside other women beginning from exactly the same place, at a pace built for newcomers.

It's simply about practice. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and you'll have plenty of opportunity to build real skill and confidence with people who understand exactly why you're here.

Common Questions

Before you come

I'm nervous about starting — is that normal?

Completely. Most of our students started exactly the same way. This workshop exists specifically as a lower-pressure first step.

Do I need to be fit or flexible already?

No. Tai chi builds strength and flexibility over time — you don't need either to start, just a willingness to learn at your own pace.

Will I have to spar or fight?

No. Self-defence application is taught through controlled, cooperative practice — never live sparring in this workshop.

What happens after the workshop if I want to keep going?

Your £10 is fully credited toward your first month, and you're welcome to join our regular Monday and Wednesday evening classes whenever suits you — no pressure either way.

What We Cover

Not a taster — a real, ongoing practice

Each workshop focuses on a different part of the art, so over time you build a genuine, rounded understanding — not just a single self-defence trick or a one-off wellness session.

Foundations

Form & Structure

Stance, breath, posture, and the foundational movements every other skill is built on.

Internal Strength

Neigong

The internal power development work — meditation combined with movement and conditioning.

Sensitivity

Pushing Hands

Rootedness and redirecting force through partner practice — the bridge between form and application.

Application

Practical Self-Defence

Real martial application, taught by a competitive fighter with genuine security experience — not choreography.
