Imagine having access to a training system that inspires you to exercise your mind and body on a daily basis and that connects you to a more harmonious and natural way of living
Our 13 Dynamics system is designed to preserve and teach the ingenious techniques developed by ancient masters.
Many people nowadays live an unnatural and unhealthy lifestyle and feel highly stressed, uninspired and generally unsatisfied. The traditional Chinese martial arts techniques we teach are designed to strengthen and make healthy your body, whilst training stillness of mind, which means to achieve states of deep tranquility and ease.
Modern gym are boring, pretentious and highly impersonal and aren’t usually enjoyed by most people, with the focus only being on developing aesthetics. By contrast our training experiences are highly social, inspiring and friendly and develop the body internally as well as externally and help you learn martial arts skills that give you a real feeling of strength and confidence.
Most people join gyms and other fitness classes with the best of intentions but soon find themselves bored and unmotivated and then attendance drops off.
Learning the profound methods of martial arts we teach, you will never be lacking in motivation again. Students find fresh training inspiration every day and relish their daily training sessions at home outside of class.
Our martial art system provides endless ways to exercise and stimulate both body and mind so you will find yourself wanting to practice as much as possible.
Rather than the lonely trudge of regular gym sessions you will find practice at 13 Dynamics to be a friendly, uplifting and social affair with intelligent and helpful training partners from all walks of life.
We have plenty of highly experienced students around who can help you develop and give you advice. The main teacher is Neil, who has been practicing for almost 40 years. He learned from Dan Docherty, a European tai chi legend, who himself learned in Hong Kong from the famous master Cheng Tin Hung. The system is sometimes known as Wudang Tai Chi or ‘practical’ Tai Chi because it is still trained as a practical martial art.
Whilst what we practice is called Tai Chi Chuan, it is a much more dynamic system than other tai chi systems. There is a full spectrum of practices from relaxed and ‘soft’ exercises and awareness practices through to more intense self defence and body development drills. Yin and Yang are balanced as perfectly as possible so that all aspects of human potential can be trained appropriately.
If you are the type of person that enjoys a challenge we regularly attend various competitions where you can take part and test your skills in a safe environment.
